What’s Up in Upperville

The show string arrived at the oldest horse show in the country, Upperville Colt & Horse Show, in Upperville, Va. this past Sunday ready for a full week of showing. Despite the rainy, wet conditions our hunters started out the week with great results!

Fila, owned by Taylor Lampert, jumped with Debbie aboard in the gorgeous tree scattered ring with its original grand stand overlooking their rounds in the 3’3″ High Performance Division. On Tuesday he moved on to the 3’3″ Pre-Green Hunter Division, placing 4th over fences and 4th in the USHJA Pregreen Stake.

Showtimes Sunday – “Jack” (owned by Debbie McCarthy and Peter Connor) competed in the Thoroughbred Hunter Division, winning 8th over fences out of 26 entries.

On the other side of the show grounds our jumpers beat the weather with multiple clean rounds.

Roulette, owned by Spencer and Taylor Lampert, had clear rounds all week, including a 6th place win in the 1.35 m speed class.

In addition, Zim, owned by Connor & Ebetino Jumpers, jumped just as great, also moving up to the 1.35 m with a clean round.

Caroline Carpenter and Diabolo du Domaine Z – “Diablo” – were super stars in the 1.20 m – not one rail down all week!

Bella, owned by McCarthy Horse Ventures, jumped the moon, moving up from 1.20 m to 1.30 m.

EF Eline, owned by Edition Farm and shown by Caitlin Malloy Brennan, won a “clear round blue ribbon” early in the week and were clean and fast in the High Adult Amateurs on Saturday.

Our green jumpers Cassita 10, owned by Connor & Ebetino Jumpers; Jazz, owned by Taylor Lampert; and EF Katniss, owned by Edition Farm, dug in in the mud and continued their training between 1.10 and 1.20 m, each earning a clean round.
